  One nice thing about 2006

One wonderful thing about 2006 is that Dean Zimmermann will no longer be on the Minneapolis City Council (He was narrowly defeated in November).

If you don't know about Dean "Zimmerpersonn" Zimmermann, he's a crazy Green party member. Not like your every day semi-crazy Minnesota Greens, but way out there. This is the guy who thinks the way to end hostility between the Minneapolis police and city residents is for the police to go out on hug patrols. He also wanted his name to have Zimmerperson as his nickname on the ballot, but the city elections office wouldn't let him. He also supports Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) along with that sexy fox Michele Bachmann. That and he was investigated by the FBI for allegedly taking bribes (Remember: "Money, Money, Money"). What I don't understand is how stupid someone would have to be to bribe Zimmermann to get something done in the council. The man had no power, was on the fringe, and from what I hear, was not liked by the other council members.

Comments:
What will be really nice about 2006?

When Zimmermann's PRT pal Rep. Mark Olson is defeated:

Dump Representative Mark Olson (16b)

Check out the Denver Airport luggage handling system that was shut down
last fall (2005). Personal rapid transit for suitcases that never worked. As a final insult United Airlines stuck the public with 186 million in debt for the system.

Tell that to David Morris who pushes PRT.
